Assistant Planner – Full Time – 2 Openings

Under direct or general supervision, the position will perform a variety of professional and technical, routine to complex, activities in the field of current and/or advance planning; assist the general public on planning related matters; plan check review of development plans; process discretionary planning applications; prepare written project analyses and technical research; and perform related work as required.  

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills; a commitment to developing collaborative working relationships with staff and the public; and excellent customer service even when encountering difficult customer situations. The selected individual will have the ability to: work well either independently or in a team environment; effectively communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing; organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of projects and tasks in an effective and timely manner; and respond to work related issues with a flexible problem solving orientation.
