It is an exciting time for the City’s Public Works Department. The Department has experienced award winning success in 2020/2021 with the completion of the City’s new Crown Valley Community Center Project. The Department is on schedule to complete a full spectrum of existing capital improvement projects and is prepared to engage in 15 additional projects in the coming fiscal year. The City’s onsite team of professionals is complimented by the use of contract consultants that assist with completing the objectives set forth in the City’s adopted Strategic Plan. The City holds its outdoor public spaces, including parks, medians, and open space in very high regard. The Parks and Landscape Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining and building upon the lush and beautiful outdoor public spaces that Laguna Niguel is so well known for.
This exceptional opportunity is available for individuals who are dynamic, energetic professionals with a solution-oriented approach and a genuine desire to lead and help others. Under the direction of the Maintenance Services Manager, the Parks and Landscape Maintenance Superintendent will develop and administer park and landscape maintenance and construction contracts; oversee inspection of City parks, sports parks, joint-use facilities, slopes, medians, greenbelts, wetlands and other landscaped areas as well as field maintenance and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to developing collaborative working relationships with contractors, City staff and the public. The selected individual will be dedicated to providing excellent customer service even when encountering challenging customer situations, possess the ability to work well independently and in a team environment, complete a variety of projects and tasks in a timely and organized manner, and respond to work related issues with a flexible problem solving approach.
